SBL seen adding liquidity to Bursa Malaysia


Affin Hwang Capital SBL equity finance senior associate director Karu Ramesh Kumar said there were several key benefits of the SBL for the masses.

PETALING JAYA: Launched in 2007 and refined in 2009, the securities borrowing and lending (SBL) facility which was provided to institutional investors, is now available to retail investors.

The facility, which took some time to come mainstream in Malaysia, could help reinvigorate interest in the stock market as it would introduce another dimension to owning shares.
