Pelaburan Mara picks Wan Sazriz as new PMB Tijari CEO


Pelaburan Mara Bhd has appointed Wan Sazriz Datuk Wan Zaid as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of its subsidiary, PMB Tijari Bhd.

KUALA LUMPUR:  Pelaburan Mara Bhd has appointed Wan Sazriz Datuk Wan Zaid as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of its subsidiary, PMB Tijari Bhd.

Pelaburan Mara,  a financial services group and asset management company owned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat, said on Tuesday his appointment came into effect on Jan 2.

PMB Tijari is a financial services arm of Pelaburan Mara which offers comprehensive Shariah compliant financial solutions to meet its clients’ needs and financial objectives. 

“Wan Sazriz has more than 17 years of senior management experience where the last four years were with Teraju as the head of programme, carve out & compete, financial services and special projects,” it said.

Wan Sazriz takes over from Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah, who was appointed acting group CEO  of Pelaburan Mara.
 
“Wan Sazriz is the right leader for PMB Tijari,” he said, adding Wan Sazriz's extensive business administration and finance background should help PMB Tijari strengthen channel partnerships, develop strategic alliances and expand its nationwide sales presence. 

“We believe his strong leadership experience will help focus PMB Tijari during their growth process and increased profitability,”  he said.

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah said as well as having significant experience in the creation of business opportunities, funding, human capital development, and corporate strategies, Wan Sazriz is adept at strategic development and plannning, execution and transformation. 

Previously Wan Sazriz was attached with Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd, Maybank and Citibank. 

Wan Sazriz holds an MBA majoring in Strategic Management from University Teknologi Malaysia and a BA in Business Administration (Finance) from UiTM. 

Teraju is a strategic unit under the Prime Minister’s Department with the express objective of spearheading progress through meaningful, resilient and sustainable Bumiputera economic participation.
