Trading ideas: Vizione, Pintaras Jaya, FGV Holdings and Yinson


KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch for on the first trading day of 2019 include Vizione, Pintaras Jaya, FGV Holdings and Yinson, said JF Apex Research.

The research house noted that Vizione has bagged a RM377.6mil contract from Permata Rebana Sdn Bhd to supply materials, labour and project management services relating to road works in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Pintaras Jaya's unit has been awarded three new piling contracts worth a combined RM103mil.

FGV Holdings has aborted its plan to collaborate with the Sabah Forestry Department to explore the rehabilitation of riparian and forest buffer zone which lies between the forest reserve and the FGV estate in Sahabat, Sabah.

Yinson said its Vietnam associate PTSC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (PTSC AP) has entered into an addendum to the bareboat charter interim contract with Petrovietnam Technical Services Corp (PTSC) to extend the tenure for a further six months commencing Jan 1 till June 30, 2019.

On Monday, Wall Street put in a positive performance to close out the year rising on optimism over trade negotiations between the US and CHina.

European stocks likewise rose on the progress on trade talks between the two major economies.

The FBM KLCI lost 1.49 points on Dec 31 to end the year at 1,690.58 points.

According to JF Apex research, the local benchmark index could remain trading in a sideways channel below its resistance at 1,710 points.
