Trading ideas: MRCB, Advancecon, Dayang, Zelan


KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch for on Monday include MRCB, Advancecon, Dayang, Zelan, and a raft of other companies that have recently posted their earnings results, according to JF Apex research.

MRCB has received the settlement sum of RM1.33bil for the termination of the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) concession from the Government.

Advancecon has been awarded a contract for the construction of a service reservoir and associated works in Serenia City, Sepang, for RM18.81mil.

Dayang has won its first overseas contract for the maintenance of offshore facilities in the oil and gas (O&G) industry in Turkmenistan.

Zelan has lost an arbitration in a dispute with a dredging firm over charter hire fees, and has been ordered to pay the firm RM2.66mil.

Meanwhile, companies that posted improved year-on-year results include Malakoff, Ta Ann and Dayang while others that saw weaker results include Sime Darby Plantation, Bumi Armada, YTL, IOI Properties, Axiata, Kian Joo, OWG, Evergreen and Bintulu Port.

Last Friday, Wall Street once agains came under selling pressure with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling more than 150 points for its worst Thanksgiving week decline since 2011.

Oil prices have been in focus as they fell to a year's low even as OPEC will meet to consider a cut in output.
