Trading ideas: Petron, Tune Protect, Suria Capital, Tasco

KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd, Tune Protect Group Bhd, Suria Capital Holdings Bhd and Tasco Bhd to be among the stocks to watch today.

JF Apex said Petron's 3QFY18 net profit fell 19.4% year-on-year on lower refining margins.

Tune Protect's 3QFY18 net profit slid 28.3% year-on-year on lower net earned premiums, increased management expenses, and a decrease in net claims incurred.

Suria Capital's 3QFY18 net profit surged 4.6 times year-on-year thanks to lower other expenses for the current quarter under review.

Tasco’s 2QFY19 net profit tumbled 69.7% year-on-year mainly bogged down by Ocean Freight Forwarding division and Contract Logistics Division, coupled with higher financing cost.

Meanwhile, US markets staged a rebound overnight after gains in financial, energy and technology counters.

Earlier, European stocks tumbled following the resignation of several UK ministers in protest of Brexit.

“Following the rebound in Wall Street, the FBM KLCI could follow suit and climb above its resistance of 1,700 points,” JF Apex said.
