KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex expects Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N), Malayan Flour Mills Bhd (MFM), Hartalega Holdings Bhd , Rhone Ma Holdings Bhd and ECS ICT Bhd to be among the stocks to watch on Friday.
F&N’s 4QFY18 net profit soared over four times to RM81.24mil compared with RM19.65mil in the previous year, thanks to increased contribution from both its Malaysian and Thailand operations coupled with restructuring costs and other one-off items incurred in the previous year.
Malayan Flour Mills slipped into its first quarterly loss, reporting a 3QFY18 net loss of RM5.19mil against a net profit of RM23.51mil a year ago on the back of lower poultry sales.
Hartalega reported a 6% year-on-year increase in its 2QFY19 net profit, despite a strong double-digit revenue growth, after incurring other operating expense of RM11.1mil and higher finance costs.
Rhone Ma plans to issue bonus shares on the basis of one bonus share for every ten shares (1-for-10) held by entitled shareholders.
ECS ICT recorded a 56.9% year-on-year spike in its 3QFY18 net profit, on higher gross profit margin in both its ICT Distribution and Enterprise Systems segments.
Meanwhile, US markets ended flat as the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged and expects further gradual increases.
Earlier, European stocks closed mixed prior to the Fed's decision.
“Following the neutral performance in the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could trend sideways above the support of 1,700 points,” JF Apex said.
