Globetronics third quarter results below expectations

Its sensor production volume in the first half was three times higher than the same period last year, driven by higher gesture sensor volumes and contribution from the light sensors.

PETALING JAYA: Globetronics Technology Bhd’s recently-announced results for the third quarter of financial year 2018 (3Q18) came in below expectations, even as the bottom line surged by about 64.2% year-on-year (y-o-y).

According to UOB Kay Hian Research, the integrated circuits maker’s net profit failed to meet its forecast, primarily because revenue in the quarter was weaker than expected.
