Fitters wins contract from PAAB to supply water pipes for two years

Scomi Group Bhd surprised investors when it proposed to revise its current issued share capital reduction from RM224.96mil to RM3mil from the earlier RM40mil.

PETALING JAYA: Fitters Diversified Bhd has won a contract from Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB) to supply Hypro-Oriented PVC (PVC-O) water pipes for two years.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Fitters said its subsidiary, Molecor (SEA) Sdn Bhd, had won a central purchase contract from PAAB in an open tender.

“The contract entails the supply of Hypro PVC-O pipes with a 16 bar pressure rating, ranging from 110mm to 630mm in diameter.

“To kick off the contract, the pipes will be utilised to replace ageing asbestos cement pipes in Kelantan and Johor.

“The water pipes rehabilitation and replacement programme will be expanded to other states in Peninsular Malaysia in the near future.”

The award, which is the company’s first-ever contract from the custodian of national water assets, commenced on Oct 29.

Fitters, which is involved in the provision of fire-fighting solutions, property development, the manufacturing of PVC-O water pipes and renewable energy, said the award is expected to contribute positively to its financial performance in the financial years ending Dec 31, 2018 to 2020.
