Petronas set to buy 10% stake in Oman gas field

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is set to buy a 10% stake in the Khazzan natural gas field in Oman, the Wall Street Journal reported.

According to the publication, the Khazzan field is a US$12bil development run by BP Plc that is 40% owed by the Oman Oil Company. It is one of the largest fracking projects ever completed outside of the US, producing one billion cubic feet of gas a day with plans to produce an additional 500 million cubic feet a day by 2021.
