Trading ideas: PRG and Sime Darby Property

KUALA LUMPUR: PRG Holdings and Sime Darby Property are among stocks to watch for on Thursday, according to JF Apex Research.

In an announcement yesterday, PRG said it disposed of a 12% stake in Hong Kong-listed elastic textile and webbing manufacturer Furniweb Holdings Ltd for 50 HK cents per share (26 sen) or RM15.96mil

Meanwhile, Sime Darby Property will go it alone in the development of the 379,000-acre Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) project as MoU with Brunsfield Development Sdn Bhd and Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pencen (KWAP) lapsed in November last year.

On Wall Street, US markets were slightly higher with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.2% to 26,828.39. The S&P 500 closed marginally higher to 2,925.51 as losses in consumer and utility stocks outweighed gains in the financial sector. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.3% to 8,025.08 with Apple rising 1.2%.

In oil markets, WTI crude touched a four-year high overnight, rising 1.6% to US$76.41 as the deadline on US sanctions on Iran creep closer.
