WCT receives RM1.77bil construction job for Pavilion D'sara Heights

Its job scope for the contract involves supplying concrete cement and metal for the upgrading of the Train Cargo Terminal at Padang Besar, Perlis, Dolphin said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: WCT Holdings Bhd's unit, WCT Bhd, has bagged a RM1.77bil job from Impian Ekspresi Sdn Bhd for construction works for the proposed Pavilion Damansara Heights commercial development.

"The scope of works under the Contract shall encompass the execution and completion of 9 blocks of office tower and 3 blocks of service apartment on a podium block comprising retail space, mezzanine floors and works to lower ground floor and basement car park," it said in a stock exchange filing.

The works are expected to be completed within 38 months, with the contract commencing this month.

The contract is a recurrent related party transaction by virtue that Tan Sri Lim Siew Choon, the executive chairman of WCT, has an indirect stake in Impian Ekspresi, while both Lim and Datuk Lee Tuck Fook, the group managing director of WCT, sit on its board of directors.

WCT had obtained shareholders' approval for the acceptance of the award at its annual general meeting on June 6.

Trading in WCT shares was halted between 9am and 10am this morning in the light of the announcement. At 10.55am, the stock was trading 4.5 sen or 5.23% higher at 90.5 sen on the back of 5.16 million shares traded.
