Vertice slips in early trade

Genting slumped 15 sen to RM6.80 and erased 1.01 points while GentingM was down three sen to RM3.25 following the recent corporate news which were viewed as negative by investors.

KUALA LUMPUR: Vertice Bhd faced some selling pressure in early morning trade following news of its withdrawal from the Sungai Besi–Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) project.

As at 9.55am, the stock was down one sen or 1.12% to 88 sen on the back of low trading volume.

The company announced on Friday that it had lost the RM339.86mil sub-contract as San Mutual MajuJaya Sdn Bhd, the subcontractor that had awarded it the job, had been terminated.

Vertice said in its filing that it was entitled to claim costs and expenses incurred of less than RM1.5mil with San Mutual MajuJaya.
