Petron explains getting contract had nothing to do with any Mahathir connection


The award had stirred criticism, stemming from the connection of Petron to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad

PETALING JAYA: Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd has clarified that it has gone through proper accreditation to be awarded as one of the fuel suppliers for government vehicles.

In a statement yesterday, Petron said that it had gone through an extensive process, where it had put in its first application in March 2015 to become one of the fuel suppliers to the government.
