Fire at Supermax’s smallest plant, production halted


KUALA LUMPUR: Production has been halted at glove maker Supermax Corporation Bhd ’s smallest plant after a fire broke out last Friday evening.

It said on Monday there were no casualties and the Fire Department was quick in bringing the fire under control. 

“The cause of the fire is unknown at this moment. The company shall restore back the production as soon as possible,” it said.

At 9.42am, Supermax was down three sen to RM4.27.

The FBM KLCI was up 0.64 of a point to 1,809.23. Turnover was 729.30 million shares valued at RM223.17mil. There were 235 gainers, 269 losers and 273 counters unchanged.
