PetChem MD: US-China trade war may impact firm

Sazali: At the moment, there is no serious threat and it is still business as usual for us. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR: Integrated chemicals producer Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PetChem) could be impacted if the trade war between the United States (US) and China continues to worsen, according to the group’s managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Sazali Hamzah.

Speaking after the 2018 Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference, Sazali said that the escalation of trade hostilities in the longer term may lead towards lower industrial growth in China and eventually affect the petrochemicals industry in the region, including PetChem.
