Lower loan loss provisions boost CIMB Niaga earnings


CIMB Group Holdings owns a 92.5% stake in CIMB Niaga.

KUALA LUMPUR: PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk,a unit of CIMB Group Holdings Bhd, reported a consolidated net profit of 1.8 trillion rupiah in the first half of 2018  on lower provisions for bad loans.

Operating profit was up 1.8%, boosted by a 32.6% jump in non-interest income. Operating cost, however, went up 3.4% over the same period.
