Weaker LNG weighs on MISC Q2 net profit but upbeat for H2


MISC's Q4 2015 saw its earnings fall 21.5% to RM752.72mil due to net loss on disposal of ships, property, plant and equipment of RM75mil

KUALA LUMPUR: MISC Bhd's net profit fell by 42.2% in the second quarter ended June 30, 2018 as it was impacted by the weaker liquified natural gas (LNG) performance but it expects the further improvements in the second half of 2018.

MISC reported on Tuesday its earnings fell to RM321.20mil from RM556.50mil a year ago. Its revenue fell by 7% to RM2.14bil from RM2.30bil. Earnings per share were 7.2 sen compared with 12.5 sen. It declared an interim dividend of seven sen a share, unchanged fro a year ago.
