Mohd Bakke is new MPOB chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh has been appointed as chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) for a two-year term, effective July 31, 2018.

He is currently the executive deputy chairman and managing director of Sime Darby Plantations Bhd and has vast experience in the oil palm industry, having served plantation companies including as president and group chief executive of Sime Darby.

“Mohd Bakke was responsible for overseeing the core divisions within the (Sime Darby) group which includes plantation, property, industrial, motors and logistics,” MPOB said in a statement. - Bernama
