Claims on the rise for LRT3

The national transportation policy is one of the main thrust to strengthen infrastructure and provide a sustainable transport system in the next two years as the government strives to drive growth until year 2020, maximising the existing infrastructure and building only new ones after careful analysis.

KUALA LUMPUR: Contractors with work packages in the light rail transit 3 (LRT3) project have put the project delivery partner (PDP) on notice that they would seek compensation for the additional cost incurred due to the changes in the design and schedule of delivery of the project.

Sources said that some of the contractors had already written to the PDP, which is Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) and George Kent (M) Bhd, stating that they would incur additional cost which they would claim from the PDP.
