Serba Dinamik bags RM268.5mil EPCC job in Laos

KUALA LUMPUR: Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd has won a RM268.5mil contract for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) work in Laos.

The EPCC contract was awarded by Nam Taep 1, 2, 3 Hydropower Company Ltd.

“This collaboration with Nam Taep marks Serba Dinamik’s first step into Laos, and is in line with our strategy to increase our involvement in the energy market as well as to enlarge our market presence in Southeast Asia,” group managing director and CEO Datuk Ir  Mohd Abdul Karim bin Abdullah said.

“We currently have a total capacity of 120MW for hydropower plants,” he said in a statement today.

The EPCC contract is for a duration of up to 43 months.

On another development, Serba Dinamik said it is buying a 15% stake in Green & Smart Holdings Plc (GSH) for RM16.99mil through a share subscription exercise.

GSH, listed in London on the AIM market, is involved in research and development, engineering consultancy and process design services in the area of industrial biotechnology, pollution control and renewable energy, as well as EPCC of various waste water treatment plants/ systems and development.

Its core business is power generation from biogas captured through the treatment of palm oil mill effluent.

“The proposed subscription is in line with our plan to enlarge our business in asset ownership as well as to expand our EPCC business segment and capabilities,” Karim said.
