Affin Bank bags achievement in liquidity risk management award

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Group has bagged The Achievement in Liquidity Risk Management Award at The Asian Banker Risk Management Awards 2018 held in Beijing, China recently.

The Asian Banker Risk Management Awards identifies emerging best practices and outstanding achievements of the best run risk management teams in financial institutions and is benchmarked globally by tracking developments around the world.

In a statement today, Affin Bank Bhd Group Chief Executive Officer Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil said the award reflected the bank’s firm commitment to continuously improve its enterprise-wide and liquidity management, as well as advance risk management practices to keep up with the competitive environment and fast changing regulatory landscape.

The bank said in the face of more rigorous regulatory and business requirements for liquidity which intensified competition for deposits and putting pressure on funding costs, it had taken steps to strengthen its infrastructure to monitor and manage liquidity risks.

The measures include implementing an Asset Liability Management System and enhancing its risk management framework. - Bernama
