KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia will ensure a smooth transition in the handing over of duties to the new governor following the resignation of Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim.
The central bank said on Wednesday it had accepted Muhammad's offer to step down as the governor.
“The announcement of the new governor will be made upon the royal consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” it said.
It said the Muhammad would like to thank the government for the honour and privilege to serve the nation and the people of Malaysia.
