Proton plots return to Iranian car market


All eyes will be on Proton Holdings Bhd as the national car company plots its return to the top with Chinese strategic partner Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co Ltd in the driving seat.

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd has signalled its intention to return to the Iranian car market with a new plan to set up a car assembly business there.

Parent company DRB-Hicom Bhd told the exchange today that its 50.1% unit had on Apr 10 set up Proton Motor Parsian Company (Ltd) (PMPC).
