MBAM sees RM180bil worth of construction jobs this year

Although projects like the RM12.86bil Pan-Borneo Highway in Sabah and the RM55bil ECRLhave been implemented, packages for the projects are still in the process of being awarded.

GEORGE TOWN: The Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) is projecting that the values of construction jobs awarded in 2017 and 2018 would be about RM170bil and RM180bil, respectively.

MBAM president Foo Chek Lee told StarBiz the projected values were lower than the RM229bil achieved in 2016 because the construction industry has yet to feel the full impact of the spending for major government infrastructure jobs.
