Perodua to fulfill new Myvi orders in time for Hari Raya

Daihatsu Motor Corporation of Japan and Mitsui & Co. Ltd of Japan being the shareholders of Perodua Sdn Bhd.

KUALA LUMPUR: Customers who have placed orders for the new Myvi will likely receive their vehicles in time for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd.

Managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said to date, the compact carmaker had delivered 28,000 Myvi units fulfilling nearly half of the 60,000 orders received.

“We thank our customers and the Malaysian public for their strong support for the Myvi and will continue to improve the delivery time,” he said in a statement today.

Based on the strong support for Perodua’s latest offering, as well as a healthy demand for its other models, the carmaker estimated its market share for the month of February to surpass 41%, having sold 17,100 vehicles of which 6,500 are Myvis, 5,000 Axias, 3,700 Bezzas and 1,900 Alzas.

On a year-on-year basis, Perodua’s sales performance improved by 13.1% to 34,800 units against 30,800 vehicles sold in the first two months of 2017.

Perodua aims to sell 209,000 units this year, a 2% increase from the 204,900 units sold in 2017. - Bernama
