AirAsia Q4 earnings fall, but Fernandes optimistic of future

Fernandes:

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Bhd’s net profit for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2017 dropped 30% to RM372.65mil from RM465.32mil in the previous corresponding period, as its gain during the quarter was partially offset by current and deferred taxation charges of RM140mil.

“Net profit for the current quarter was mainly contributed by growth in the business and the RM167.7mil gain from the disposal of Asian Aviation Centre of Excellence Sdn Bhd, a joint-venture company,” AirAsia said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.
