KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Serba Dinamik, Supermax, Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor (KPS), Dialog and Protasco to be among the stocks to watch on Thursday.
Serba Dinamik’s units have secured a total of seven new contracts, worth RM830.9mil.
As for Supermax, its 2QFY18 net profit jumped 59% on-year, driven by stronger revenue, higher production capacity and improved operational efficiency.
JF Apex Research said KPS is entering the electronic manufacturing services (EMS) segment, after buying a Penang-based fully-integrated EMS player, CPI (Penang) Sdn Bhd, for RM250mil.
Dialog’s 2QFY18 net profit grew 26.71% on-year thanks to its Malaysian operations and higher contributions from its joint ventures (JVs) and associates.
An associate company of Protasco has entered into a concession agreement with the federal government to maintain federal roads in Sarawak.
The research house also pointed out US markets rallied overnight to extend its rebound following gains in financial and technology counters despite higher inflation data, lower retail sales and higher bond yields.
Similarly, European stocks jumped following gains in media and basic resources counters amid quarterly results.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI closed up just 1.91 points to 1,834.93 to extend its consolidation.
“Following the positive performance in the US and Europe, the KLCI could test its resistance of 1,840,” it said.
