PETALING JAYA: Financial institutions that think regulation makes market players “boring” may have become too complacent and should undertake a reality check, says Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim (pic).
His remarks appear to be in response to a recent commentary by CIMB Group Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, who argued that banking institutions have become more tightly controlled than ever and that regulators want banks to become safer and boring.
