KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (MMHE), Scicom (MSC) Bhd and Bonia Corp Bhd are among the stocks to watch on Thursday, according to JF Apex Research.
The research house also expects Benalec Holdings Bhd, Spring Gallery Bhd and Imaspro Corp Bhd to generate trading interest following their latest corporate news.
MMHE reported a net profit of RM48.1mil for its 4QFY17, against a net loss of RM119.6mil in the same quarter last year, despite lower revenue, as its heavy engineering segment returned to black.
Scicom has bagged a contract to develop, implement, operate and maintain an integrated Cambodia Tourism Management System for the country's Ministry of Tourism.
Bonia is contemplating the demerger of its wholly-owned unit CRG Inc Sdn Bhd and the latter's subsidiaries, which it proposed to subsequently be listed on the LEAP Market of Bursa Malaysia.
Benalec has declined to sell 12 plots of land owned by its wholly-owned units in Pekan Klebang, Melaka Tengah, Melaka, to engineering solutions provider Spring Gallery for about RM186.6mil.
Imaspro recorded a 140.4% rise in net profit for the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2017, thanks to higher revenue and margin.
Meanwhile, US markets ended lower after surrendering intraday gains amid volatile trading Treasury yields rose.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed 19.42 points lower at 24,893.35, notching its biggest reversal since August 2015.
Earlier, European stocks rallied after a sharp rebound led by oil and gas counters.
“Following the market uncertainty, the FBM KLCI is expected to remain sideways below the resistance of 1,840 points with support at 1,800 points,” JF Apex said.
