US tariffs to hit local PV companies

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia, which is the largest photovoltaic (PV) exporter to the United States with a market share of 30% of US PV imports, will be impacted by America’s move to slap tariffs on imports of PV cells and modules for four years.

CIMB Economic Research said PV exports to the US accounted for 1.1% of Malaysia’s total exports in 2016.
