KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Energy Bhd , VS Industry Bhd , Brahim’s Holdings Bhd, Pavilion Reit and Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd are among the stocks to watch on Friday, according to JF Apex Research.
Sapura Energy is looking at a potential listing of its exploration and production (E&P) business. The company said it had engaged advisors to evaluate and advise on this potential exercise.
VS Industry has proposed to undertake a bonus issue of up to 397.58 million bonus shares on the basis of one bonus share for every four existing shares held.
Brahim’s Holdings has made its catering services available on board all electric train services (ETS) operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB), as well as at rail cafes at KTMB’s stations and terminals.
Pavilion REIT’s 4QFY17 net property income rose 16% year-on-year to RM89.06mil from RM76.99mil a year ago. It declared a final distribution per unit (DPU) of 4.28 sen.
Syarikat Takaful Malaysia saw its 4QFY17 net profit grow 43% year-on-year on improved net wakalah fee income and lower management expenses.
Meanwhile, US markets ended mixed with the Dow and S&P climbing to record highs after better-than-expected corporate earnings while Nasdaq ended slightly lower.
European stocks closed lower after mixed performances in quarterly results and the European Central Bank kept interest rates unchanged.
“Following yesterday's bullish performance, the FBM KLCI could extend its uptrend since December towards the resistance of 1,870 points,” JF Apex said.
