Caely hits limit-up and prompts Bursa query


KUALA LUMPUR: Caely Holdings Bhd, which has been under the radar of investors for years, saw its share price hit limit-up on Thursday and this prompted a query from Bursa Malaysia Securities query.

It closed up 30 sen to RM1.08 – the highest in several years – with 18.29 million shares done.

The FBM KLCI was up 10.66 points or 0.59% to 1,803.45. Turnover rose to 5.05 billion shares valued at RM3.28bil. The broader market was firm with advancers leading decliners to two to one. There were 644 gainers, 330 losers and 459 counters unchanged.

The Teluk Intan company's core businesses are manufacturing of women's undergarments and property development.

Bursa Securities issued an unusual market activity query on the sharp rise in price of Caely's shares recently.

The regulator had advised investors to take note of the company’s reply to the above UMA query which will be posted at Bursa Malaysia’s website under the company announcementswhen making their investment decision.
