KUALA LUMPUR: Four dealers have taken up the incentive support scheme offered by national carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd to upgrade their outlets into one-stop centres.

Proton on Friday held the ceremony to sign the first batch of dealers network upgrade agreements with these dealers to commemorate the upgrading of their outlets to 3S and 4S centres.

In a statement, Proton said more such upgrades by existing Proton dealers were on the way.

The upgraded outlets would be one-stop centres that provided essential services such as sales offices, aftersales services, sales of parts plus body and paint services, it said.

The outlets would embody a new look and feel, Proton said, adding that most outlets would be upgraded from the current 1S or 2S centres.

The car manufacturer  said with the newly upgraded 3S and 4S centres, the dealers would be able to serve their customers more efficiently and provide an enhanced experience to them.

“Dealer outlet upgrading, renovation and relocation are in the works to ensure that the new premises befit the new image of Proton, and to prepare the dealers with the upcoming introduction of Proton’s first SUV. The upgrade and enhancement of the outlets are in line with meeting the new guidelines of Proton business expansion plan,” said Proton.

The agreements on Friday were signed between Proton vice-president (sales and marketing) Abdul Rashid Musa with Baiduri Auto Sdn Bhd  director Azry Ibrahim, Bunga Raya Auto Credit Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Chee Hong, Setia Gemilang Auto Sdn Bhd director Andrew Quek Tze Kean and Vantage Speed Sdn Bhd director Datuk Seri Tee Boon Kee.

Also present were Proton chief executive officer Li Chunrong and Proton deputy CEO Datuk Radzaif Mohamed as well as other members of the carmaker’s senior management.

In its effort to support its dealer network, Proton has given dealers the opportunity to invest in their outlets and upgrade them to 3S and 4S centres via an incentive support scheme.

The offer is also open to those who wish to participate in the new Proton dealership.

The statement did not give details on the incentive support scheme.
