KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd has teamed up with Samsung to provide enterprise grade mobility services to Malaysian businesses, making it the first mobile telco across Asia to be part of Samsung Business Ambassador (SBA) programme.

The collaboration will involve training Maxis’ enterprise sales team to become mobility solution experts and trusted advisors to businesses in Malaysia.

Under the partnership with Samsung B2B team,  Maxis was picked to be the first Malaysian telco to directly offer Samsung Knox solutions.

These solutions are a set of software suites to manage, secure and customise mobile devices for different business needs and industry applications.

The collaboration is three-pronged as Maxis will be able to offer businesses relevant recommendations, business efficiency and security.

As for relevant recommendations, the Maxis sales team will be equipped with the knowledge, tools, training and technical know-how from Samsung.  The team will be able to provide the best recommendations, therefore making it easier for businesses to make sound decisions on what they need.

In terms of business efficiency, by using Knox, businesses can remotely configure and manage a huge number of mobile devices used in operations at multiple places.

Securing the mobile device into kiosk mode which means restricting the use and access to only work-related apps and it can also enhance workforce productivity.

As for security, which is of top importance in businesses operations, Maxis said with Knox Solutions, businesses can be assured of the management and security for their mobile devices.

Some of the services that businesses can enjoy include protecting company apps, content and data.

Maxis head of enterprise  Loong Tuck Weng pointed out that as a Samsung Business Ambassador, businesses are confident of Maxis' best expert advice to meet their specific needs.

“And with Knox, we can offer our customers a better way to manage security and increase productivity.  This partnership reinforces our position as the integrated solutions provider of choice for businesses in Malaysia,” said Loong.

The vice president of B2B sales group, mobile communications business, Samsung Electronics David Kim said global companies including Malaysia’s top telco firms today have put Samsung at the centre of their mobile strategy,.

He pointed out Samsung devices as well as solutions have become essential tools for the modern and mobile workforce – transforming the way we work and communicate.

“Together with Maxis, we are confident that Samsung KNOX Solutions will serve as the ultimate business tool so Malaysian businesses can increase efficiency, maximise potentials and create value," Kim added.

Among those present at the event last Friday were Samsung’s director of global mobile B2B team, Sean Son;  Maxis’ head of enterprise marketing & product Shanti Jusnita Johari and  Samsung’s head of enterprise mobile business,  Danny Tang.
