Cahya Mata gets six months extension of concession

In a statement, CMSB group chief executive officer of operations, Goh Chii Bing, said:

KUALA LUMPUR: Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMSB) long term concession to maintain the state roads of Sarawak has been extended by another six months until June next year.

The extension is to facilitate negotiations and finalisation of the revised terms and conditions for the renewal of the agreement for the long-term management and maintenance of state roads in Sarawak.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Tuesday, CMSB said the contract extension to June 30, 2018 was estimated to be worth RM87.7mil.

CMS’s wholly owned subsidiary, CMS Roads Sdn Bhd was first awarded a 15-year road maintenance contract with the state government in April 2003.

CMS is a company linked to the family members of Sarawak’s governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud.
