Higher profit after tax for Axiata in Q3

Axiata president and group CEO Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim said the group had achieved a few significant milestones to record strong double digit growth on all key financial indicators.

KUALA LUMPUR: Axiata Group Bhd’s profit after tax (PAT) increased by 7.9% to RM319.1mil for the third quarter ended Sept 30 (3Q17), underpinned by improved earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) and forex translation gains.

This was in contrast to forex translation a year ago due to the weakened ringgit against US Dollar in 3Q16.

The telco announced on Thursday profit after tax and minority interest (Patami) slipped 7% to RM238.5mil from RM256.5mil previously.
