Better outlook for DRB-Hicom

Highly anticipated: The Geely-based Boyue SUV is expected to be launched in Malaysia in the latter part of 2018.

PETALING JAYA: Ongoing works to revive Proton Holdings Bhd are expected to improve the outlook for DRB-Hicom Bhd which owns a 50.1% stake in the national car manufacturer.

According to RHB Research, while turning around Proton will take some time, the company, which has been struggling operationally for many years, now seems to have a better chance of doing well following the entry of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co Ltd as DRB-Hicom’s partner in the business.
