China lifts foreign ownership limits on financial firms: The Chinese government on Friday said it will raise foreign ownership limits in domestic financial firms, a long-anticipated step that grants greater access to overseas investors into the Asian giant’s financial services market. The changes include raising the limit on foreign ownership in joint-venture firms involved in the futures, securities and funds markets to 51% from the current 49%. — Reuters

Westports Q3 earnings falls to RM150.8m: Westports Holdings Bhd‘s reported a 0.14% fall in third-quarter earnings to RM150.82mil due to the lower container throughput and higher fuel costs. Revenue rose 3.7% to RM492.27mil from RM474.41mil, while earnings per share were at 4.42 sen compared with 4.43 sen a year earlier. — StarBiz

Petronas Gas’ earnings down in Q3: Petronas Gas Bhd’s earnings fell to to RM417.4mil in the third quarter compared to RM422.12mil previously owing to higher depreciation in line with completion of capital projects and higher utilities cost of sales from higher fuel gas prices.
