Govt to set up co-investment fund

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government will set up a co-investment fund (CIF) with RM50mil from existing grants to be invested in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with private investors through equity crowdfunding (ECF) and peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms.

According to Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, the Securities Commission (SC) would assist in establishing the fund and defining the co-investment criteria for both equity and debt financing.
