FIC reaffirms that it is still owner of properties

PETALING JAYA: Felda Investment Corp Sdn Bhd (FIC) has reaffirmed that it is still the owner of the two companies in the British Virgin Islands, FIC London Hotel (Private) Ltd (FLH) and FIC Global Ltd (FGL), in response to claims made by Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Rafizi Ramli.

FIC also owns the properties held by both companies, namely, The Park City Grand Plaza Kensington, Felda House, and Grand Felda House.

In a statement yesterday, FIC also added that it had appointed a tax consultant to advise on the structure of its investments in the UK back in 2014.

“FIC would like to confirm that no company was set up on Oct 13, 2017. Instead, the share certificate of FLH was certified as a true copy by the lawyer on Oct 17, 2017, and the share certificate of FGL was certified as a true copy by the lawyer on Oct 13, 2017,” it said.

Rafizi had claimed that the ownership of two expensive properties registered in the British Virgin Islands was unknown and that the company which supposedly owns The Park City Grand Plaza Kensington was closed down last year.
