KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Affairs Ministry has appointed My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) to undertake the voluntary repatriation of illegal foreign workers for the Immigration Department.
The e-Government services provider told Bursa Malaysia that it received the letter of appointment in Monday.
MyEG said the tenure of the project spanned from Oct 10 - the letter’s date - to Dec 31, 2017.
“The project has no fixed value as it is dependent on the number of foreign workers successfully repatriated,” it said.
“Nonetheless, the board of directors is of the view that the project is in the best interest of the company and is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the company for the financial year ending June 30, 2018.”
MyEG said an agreement to formalise the acceptance of the project would be signed and announced in due course.
It further noted that none of its directors and/or major shareholders and persons connected with a director or major shareholder has any interest, direct or indirect, in this project.

MyEG was in January given an extension of its contract for the management of illegal foreign workers (except for foreign workers from Myanmar) for the rehiring programme until Dec 31, 2017, from Aug 15, 2016.
That project also has no fixed value as it depends on the number of illegal foreign workers successfully registered.
