Mudajaya bags LRT3 contract worth RM1.16bil

KUALA LUMPUR: Mudajaya Group Bhd today became the fourth listed firm to announce that it bagged a Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) construction work, winning a contract valued at RM1.16bil.

The construction firm said Prasarana Malaysia Bhd awarded the contract to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mudajaya Corp Bhd, to undertake the construction of guideways, stations, park and ride, ancillary buildings and other associated works.

“The project is expected to be completed by February 2021 with a construction period of 39 months from the date of the letter of acceptance,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Mudajaya said the project is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2017 (FY17) onwards.

Including the latest award, the outstanding order book of Mudajaya to-date stands at RM3.5bil, it said.

Other listed companies that recently secured LRT3 work packages from Prasarana included Sunway Construction Group Bhd, Gabungan AQRS Bhd and WCT Holdings Bhd. They announced their wins last Thursday,
