PETALING JAYA: The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) has appointed Kalpana Sambasivamurthy its executive director effective Sept 18.

A lawyer by training, she spent a decade in legal practice before moving into the corporate arena.

Kalpana has extensive experience in merger and acquisitions, debt and equity capital market, banking as well as cross-border transactions.

Kalpana was previously heading DRB-Hicom Bhd’s legal affairs department. She was also senior corporate counsel at Axiata Group Bhd.

She graduated from the University of the West of England, Bristol and holds a Masters in International Relations from the University of Nottingham.
