Trading ideas: Spritzer, NTPM, Poh Kong, Mega First, AQRS


KUALA LUMPUR: Spritzer, NTPM, Poh Kong, Mega First Corporation and Gabungan AQRS are among the stocks to watch on Monday after their corporate news, says JF Apex Research.

It said Spritzer is planning a private placement to raise RM64mil while NTPM and Poh Kong recorded significant increase in their earnings.

Oldtown’s central food processing centre in Subang Jaya suffered an explosion.

As for Mega First Corp, the taxman is claiming for RM26.3mil in tax owed.

JF Apex Research noted that Lien Hoe has withdrawn its letter of demand to claim RM50.5mil from Gabungan AQRS.

Asia Bioenergy disposed of its 2.33% stake in T7 Global for RM3.65mil.

UEM Edgenta secured a RM6.75mil engineering services contract from MAS while Sentoria and Foundpac are proposing to undertake a bonus issue.  

Last Friday, US markets closed lower amid rising geopolitical tension with North Korea. Earlier, European stocks rose ahead of UK Prime Minister's speech on Brexit.

At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI closed down 2.54 points to 1,771.04 last Thursday.

“Following the mixed performances in the US and Europe, the KLCI is expected to remain lacklustre below the resistance of 1,800,” it said.
