Specialists in ticketing, fare collection sought for KL-Singapore HSR

KUALA LUMPUR: MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyHSR Corp) and the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) have invited companies specialising in ticketing and fare collection (TFC) to attend the discussions to be held here on Oct 9-10.

MyHSR Corp said on Tuesday they wanted these companies to share the latest ticketing technology and developments for a robust tiketing approach for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail project.

“MyHSR Corp and LTA envisage a passenger-friendly ticketing system that incorporates the latest ticketing technology while ensuring seamless travel throughout the HSR ecosystem, taking into consideration the cross-border elements of the

project as well as the separate operators for its international and domestic services,” it said.

It said inputs from the discussions would be considered when MyHSR Corp and LTA structure the ticketing and fare collection ecosystem, including how the assets company and operating companies are involved in the ticketing process.

The HSR aims to facilitate seamless travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, enhance business linkages and bring the peoples of both countries closer together.

The Malaysian and Singaporean Governments signed a bilateral agreement on Dec 13, 2016 for the project, which included the technical parameters, commercial model, customs, immigration and quarantine clearance, safety and security

matters, regulatory structure and project management approach.

The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR will open with eight stations: Bandar Malaysia, Bangi - Putrajaya, Seremban, Melaka, Muar, Batu Pahat and Iskandar Puteri stations in Malaysia and the Jurong East station in Singapore.

The operations are expected to start by December 2026.
