SHAH ALAM: Nasim Sdn Bhd, the sole importer and distributor of Peugeot vehicles, targets to sell 400 units of the new Peugeot 3008, a sport utility vehicle (SUV), this year, said senior general manager, Yasser Awan.
Yasser said so far, 200 bookings for the 3008 had been received.
“This will contribute 22% to the company’s overall sales target of 1,800 units for 2017,” he said before unveiling the award-winning and redefined SUV to the media in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
Yasser and the French PSA Groupe general director (Asean operations), Lionel Faugeres, then flagged off 12 units of the SUVs driven by local media representatives for a two-day road-test to Taiping, Perak.
The fully imported SUV is available in two versions -- Active THP (Turbo High Pressure) and the range-topping Allure THP.
Both variants are powered by the same 1.6-litre THP petrol engine, which serves up to 165 horsepower and 240 newton-metre (Nm) of torque.
The 3008 Active THP retails for RM142,888 and the Allure THP is selling for RM155,888, on-the road without insurance.
The prices include a five-year or 120,000 km warranty as well as a 24-hour Peugeot Assistance service. Five exterior body colours are metallic copper, magnetic blue, amazonite grey, ultimate red and pearl white, with the last two requiring an additional RM1,590.
The 2017 European Car of the Year is claimed to have top speed at 211 kilometres per hour (km/h), with a 0-100 km/h time of 8.9 seconds, and a fuel efficiency of seven litres per 100 km following the combined cycle.
Both variants feature Peugeot’s trademark i-Cockpit interior, with the highlight being the 12.3-inch digital head-up cluster display, piano-key toggle switches, and eight-inch multifunction colour touchscreen with full multimedia connectivity.
The 3008 comes with 520 litres of boot space with an adjustable boot floor, safety kit of six airbags, anti-skid braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency brake assist, traction control, dynamic stability control, electronic stability programme, hill assist, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, with a reverse camera all coming as standard.
The new 3008 was built on the Efficient Modular Platform, which also underpins the Peugeot latest 308, 408 and 5008 models. - Bernama
