Enra Icon JV gets Petronas licence


KUALA LUMPUR: A joint venture between Enra Group Bhd and Australia's Icon Engineering have secured a technology licence from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas).

Upstream, an oil and gas newsletter, said on Tuesday the licence would enable the JV to to provide services directly to Petronas.

Recall that on Jan 6, Enra's unit Enra Oil & Gas Services Sdn Bhd and Icon Oilfield Solutions Sdn Bhd -- a unit of ICON Engineering Pty Ltd of Australia – had entered into a shareholders’ agreement.

The JV was provide low-cost solutions to the upstream  O&G industry within and outside Malaysia.

The proposed JV was in line with Enra's expansion plan by leveraging on the opportunities in niche and/or cost effective solutions for the oil and gas industry.
