New senior appointments at SC


KUALA LUMPUR: Securities Commission Malaysia has made several key senior appointments, it said in a press release issued on Monday.

Kamarudin Hashim (pic) has been appointed as Executive Director of the Market & Corporate Supervision business group, overseeing the institution supervision, corporate surveillance, market surveillance and risk analysis departments.

Formerly leading the Intermediary and Fund Supervision team, Kamarudin has been with the SC since 1993 with vast experience in various areas including derivatives, bonds, fund management, Islamic capital markets and supervision.

Salmah Bee Mohd Mydin has been promoted to the position of Director of Intermediary & Fund Supervision, in charge of supervision of market intermediaries and authorisation & licensing. Salmah has over 20 years of experience in finance and capital markets industry.  

Over the years at SC, Salmah has taken different roles giving her considerable knowledge and exposure in regulatory matters including compliance, enforcement, licensing and supervision.

Tengku Zarina Tengku Chik has joined SC as the Director of Corporate Resources. Tengku Zarina comes with more than 25 years of global banking experience both in corporate and international finance. 

She has taken on several strategic transformation roles previously, with the latest being Maybank’s head of operational excellence for global banking. 

In her new role, Tengku Zarina is in charge of finance, knowledge management and corporate services and will be involved in  the SC's ongoing work in capacity building and operational efficiency.
