KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Engineers Bhd’s (HEB) associate, HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd, has been appointed by Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd as the engineering consultant for the upgrading of high-priority water distribution system for the Iskandar Malaysia region.

In a statement on Monday, HEB said the RM5.1mil contract encompassed engineering design and construction supervision for the high-priority project.

“The works are to commence on Sept 19, 2017, and is targeted to be completed in the second quarter of 2022,” it said.

HEB said the contract was expected to contribute positively to the HEB group’s performance in the financial years ending Dec 31, 2017  to 2022.

The company also noted that it had recently transferred its listing status to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.

“This is our second contract secured from the water sector this year. We foresee more opportunities to participate in the continuous upgrading of this crucial sector across various aspects, including water distribution systems, water treatment plants, and sewerage plants, amongst others,” it said.

In March 2017, HEB secured a RM5.4mil engineering design and construction supervision services contract from Syarikat Air Darul Aman Sdn to upgrade the water treatment plant in Air Lubuk Buntar Lama, Kedah, which is slated for completion in March 2021, it said. - Bernama
