Failed merger a missed opportunity for RHB and AmBank


RHB Bank and AMMB said the transaction will effectively be an all shares merger.

INVESTORS have shaken off the merger blues hanging over both RHB Bank Bhd and AMMB Holdings Bhd (AmBank). However, both the banks will not be able to shake off speculation of them being merger targets in future.

The merger, announced in June, would have firmly fended off predators hoping to take over both banks. But now, the predators stand a chance.
